I am a Junior in Yale College, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and concentrating in Environmental Policy. I am completing an Interdisciplinary Certificate in Energy Studies and an Advanced Language Certificate in French alongside my major. I am passionate about leveraging policy and law to bring about private sector environmental action. Last summer I interned at the CDC Foundation, where I created a toolkit for businesses to address climate-induced public health risks, such as air pollution and extreme heat, in their workplaces and the wider community. I created a blueprint for how businesses could partner with cities to offer facilities such as climate resilience hubs, and developed a rationale for how these partnerships lead to financial benefits for the participating businesses, including reducing employee health insurance costs, and increasing neighborhood attractiveness. I am excited to be a coordinator for the Planetary Innovator Speaker Series this year and I hope to do more work with CBEY in future.
