YSE SOM Joint Degree Program
The partnership between the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of the Environment began in 1978 with a bold vision: to educate leaders who could bridge environmental science and business to solve the world's most pressing environmental challenges. The first combined degree was awarded in 1982, beginning a legacy of graduates with both deep expertise and practical skills—from finance to forestry.
Students in this joint degree program earn two degrees upon completion: an MBA from the Yale School of Management (SOM) in combination with a master’s degree in environmental management or forestry from the Yale School of the Environment (YSE).
