Ben is a third-year SOM-FES joint degree candidate. He is interested in sustainable entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, and international development.
Ben spent the summer of 2018 working on operations and strategy for Brava, a smart hardware start-up in Silicon Valley. The previous summer, he consulted on microfinance strategy for Iluméxico, a social enterprise that sells solar equipment to rural communities in Mexico. Before coming to Yale, Ben worked on climate resilience and global poverty alleviation. From 2013 to 2016, he coordinated climate resilience projects at World Resources Institute in Washington, DC. From 2012 to 2013, he researched climate vulnerability in rural communities of India’s Thar Desert.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, where he studied ecology and environmental science.
In addition to skills in strategic thinking, operational planning, and financial modeling, he also has many non-marketable talents, such as retention of arcane and useless trivia on a wide range of topics and the ability to craft almost any animal out of tin foil.
