Xuan Du

Born in Beijing and raised in New Haven, Xuan enjoyed her time spent in the wonderful Elm City for school. After college, she worked at New Haven Farms, an urban agriculture and food justice-oriented nonprofit (that has since merged with the New Haven Land Trust to become Gather New Haven). She then spent several years in DC at the environmental consulting firm Eastern Research Group, where she supported the CDC-ATSDR PFAS Exposure Assessments, an NPS visitor waste reduction study, and EPA partnership programs on waste reduction and water efficiency. At Yale, she has explored the food-energy nexus and is interested in addressing food systems problems with business solutions that not only support local systems but also capacitate system-wide changes.
