Tais is a proud Philadelphian, spending time along the Schuylkill river instilled her love for nature, along with time in her ancestral lands of the Dominican Republic and Nigeria. That love for nature is only rivaled by two things: fashion and beauty! Yet, why must they rival each other? What if there was a world where the fashion and beauty industries caused no harm to the planet? These are the questions Tais seeks to answer as a Master of Environmental Management Student at the Yale School of the Environment (YSE).

At YSE, Tais has created her own specialization that focuses on these industries and ethical labor. Additionally, she is co-founder and co-president of the Sustainable Fashion Student Interest Group. Post-graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in sustainable sourcing and life cycle assessment in the luxury beauty and fashion industry.
