Sofia is a joint MBA and Master of Environmental Management candidate, focused on advancement of the circular economy. She is interested in the design of sustainable systems and how finance can galvanize circular innovations.

Sofia most recently served as an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellow, hosted by Etsy’s Impact & Sustainability team.

Prior to Yale, she pursued two distinct careers: high school teacher and business consultant. She taught high school biology and chemistry in Houston through Teach For America. After teaching, she wanted to explore the impact she could make in the private sector and she started a role as a strategy consultant with EY-Parthenon in San Francisco. As a consultant, she advised dozens of clients on growth strategy.

At Yale, Sofia co-leads the Industrial Ecology & Green Chemistry Learning Community. She also volunteers as a grant reader with the New England Grassroots Fund, which funds environmental projects in the region.

Sofia graduated from Yale College with a B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. In her spare time, she enjoys Latin dance (especially salsa and Argentine tango), vegetarian cooking, and hiking with her dog.
