Hardik Pokhrel

Hardik Pokhrel is a First year Master of Environmental Management candidate at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (F&ES), specializing in energy. His main interests are renewable energy technology, finance and energy policy. He is also the Technology Transitions Student Mentor (Teaching Assistant) for the online certificate course, Financing and Deploying Clean Energy at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment.

Before attending Yale, Hardik was working as Senior Renewable Energy Officer at WindPower Nepal. He was consultant for Sky Power Global & Chaudhary Group on their 200 MW utility scale solar project in Nepal as well as Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (Government of Nepal) and UNDP on their energy access projects. He specialized in techno-commercial feasibility studies, project development and energy transition strategies.

Before WindPower Nepal, he was working with cKinetics consulting, a sustainability advisory firm in New Delhi on renewable energy and sustainability related projects. His work focused on energy access through renewable energy technologies, mini-grid business model archetypes and energy policy assessment.

He holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, India and a short course program on “Renewable Energy for developing countries” from the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, Israel.
