Eileen Nakahata

Eileen is one of the Environmental Startup Funding coordinators at CBEY and graaduated with a joint degree from the Yale School of the Environment and Yale School of Management. Eileen aspires to use her experience in science, government, and business to improve interdisciplinary communication and innovation on climate change.

Last summer, Eileen interned at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development where she helped design an online portal to benchmark companies on their net zero progress as well as match companies with decarbonization resources appropriate to their sector and the maturity of their climate program.

Prior to Yale, Eileen conducted ecological fieldwork in a variety of places, including transmission power line corridors, urban park systems, western rangelands and rainforests in Madagascar. Most recently, Eileen worked as a contractor for the Bureau of Land Management’s Plant Conservation & Restoration Program, where she developed communications highlighting federal efforts to conserve native plant genetic diversity and increase capacity for ecosystem restoration on public lands. Eileen also worked as an environmental consultant at Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (Davey Resource Group).

Eileen graduated summa cum laude from the College of William & Mary with a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science. In her free time, Eileen enjoys singing, cooking, and hiking.
