Catharina Damrell
Catharina Damrell is a graduate student at Yale’s School of the Environment. She is interested in the intersection of climate change, human health, and coastal communities. Prior to enrolling at Yale, she co-launched the U.S.’ first ever sustainability platform for food retailers, quantifying a collective $20 million savings potential through sustainability initiatives and engaging 15 major grocery chains to act on these opportunities.
She is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar alum, having taught English in Indonesia. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Connecticut College, is advanced scuba certified, and pursuing her birth Doula certification.
Outside of school, she serves as a board member of a Boston-based regional community support nonprofit, is a peer mentor for incoming YSE students, and enjoys outdoor adventures, knitting, trying new foods, and talking with her cat, Tako.
