Technology’s Potential to Solve Environmental Challenges

Information and communications technology (ICT) has significant potential to solve current environmental challenges. The aim of this interactive workshop is to explore how innovations in the tech sector can impact global sustainability issues and to share ideas for how to scale up and spread these innovations. Attendees will identify and address key barriers to sustainability, brainstorm opportunities for ICT to help overcome them, and imagine emerging technologies that could provide a leapfrog opportunity towards a greener future. This workshop will be led by Laura Franceschini, MEM student and leader of the Industrial Environmental Management student interest group at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.

This event is part of a two-part series on Sustainability in the Technology Sector, organized by Yale’s Industrial Environmental Management student interest group, with support from SAC Big Ticket funding, the Center for Industrial Ecology, and the Center for Business and the Environment.
