Bhavya Khare

Bhavya Khare is a joint degree student in Environmental Management and Public Policy (MEM/MPP). Before Yale, Bhavya worked at IDinsight, a global nonprofit specializing in data-driven insights for impactful development. In that role, she was a monitoring and evaluation partner for the Rockefeller Foundation, propelling distributed renewable energy adoption in India. She also consulted for the Chief Minister’s office, government of Punjab, to develop decision-relevant monitoring systems and worked with IWWAGE to support gender programming in India’s largest livelihood mission (NRLM). She also worked with CASI at University of Pennsylvania to analyze the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown on livelihoods in urban India.

At Yale, she is exploring the intersection of energy transitions and economic development, aiming to expand utility-scale renewables
