Karlis Povisils
Karlis Povisils is SVP of Development at Apex Clean Energy, a leading U.S. renewable energy company. Over the last ten years Karlis built, led and retained an accomplished renewable energy development team from start-up through two growth phases, culminating in a successful private equity investment from Ares Capital in 2021. Since 2015 this team has built a development pipeline of over 60 GW and realized over 8 GW of commercialized wind, solar, battery storage and green hydrogen projects. Currently Karlis is focused on building and executing a strategy to develop GW-scale projects to supplement the core business.
Prior to joining Apex, Karlis worked for ten years in state government, as a development manager for a public sector real estate development agency and as a nonpartisan analyst for the New Jersey Legislature. Karlis holds an MBA from Yale University, an MA from Syracuse University, and a BA from Rowan University.
