Aaron  Paul

Aaron Paul is currently the Director of Conservation Investments at The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC), where he leads the Washington chapter’s work in conservation finance and impact investing. He focuses on timberland conservation, water rights acquisition, and forest restoration project. In this role, he has negotiated eight figure timberland, carbon credit and water rights acquisitions, managed corporate approval processes and governance, structured debt, equity, and tax credit transactions worth $120M, negotiated joint venture with operating partners, investors, and the Nature Conservancy, project-managed teams of five to ten conservation professionals and external advisers, and managed carbon developers, valuation consultants, diligence process, internal approvals, and science assessments.

Prior to joining TNC, Aaron served as the Director of Energy and Broadband Consulting at Tilson Technology Management in Portland, Maine. Before that, he worked as an Associate Consultant at the Nature Conservancy and at the New England Forestry Foundation, also in Portland. He graduated with an MBA and MEM from Yale in 2013. He also holds a B.A. in History from Reed College.
