External Engagement Lead - Yale Clean Energy Forum

Introduction

The Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) has long been at the forefront of promoting clean energy through education and research. The Clean Energy Finance Forum, a publication launched by CBEY, played a pivotal role in this mission by offering critical insights and fostering discussions on clean energy finance up until 2021. As the landscape of energy journalism evolved, the Forum was reimagined in 2024 to better meet the needs of public officials, developers, investors, and advocates. This past academic year, the publication was relaunched as the Yale Clean Energy Forum. Student writers outlined a new approach, emphasizing detailed reporting, accessible data, and stronger engagement with professionals.

The new Forum offers in-depth, process-oriented stories that fill critical gaps in current energy coverage, leverage student research, and feature practitioners. It provides accessible financial models and policy memos that empower decision-makers and contribute to the broader discourse on clean energy deployment. Through these efforts, the Forum fosters informed discussions, articulates business cases, and drives confident creativity among financiers, advocates, policymakers, and citizens. This comprehensive plan ensures that the Yale Clean Energy Forum not only keeps pace with but also contributes significantly to the evolving landscape of clean energy finance and deployment. By integrating student work, professional journalism, and CBEY’s educational programs, the Forum is a definitive resource for those driving the clean energy transition.
