Coordinator, Environmental Startup Funding

A bit about funding CBEY offers

CBEY administers financial support for new ventures and ideas through three grants and prizes. There are three rounds of funding that increase in value throughout the course of the academic year, starting at $500 and going up to $25,000. The goal of these awards is to support student and faculty efforts to start a wide variety of environmentally oriented businesses and projects. The process is designed to support and advance all applicants, whether or not they are awarded funding, by asking thought-provoking application questions and providing meaningful feedback.

A bit about the role

CBEY’s entrepreneurial grants and prizes are largely student-driven. You would manage the process, with support from CBEY staff. Specifically, that means you would:

  • Manage and review applications
  • Organize the judging and evaluation process
  • Consolidate and share feedback with applicants after the process is completed
  • Serve as a contact person and liaison for applicants and judges
  • Write profiles of past awardees

Don’t worry, you won’t be on your own! You will work in a team of 3 students and under the guidance of CBEY and Tsai CITY staff.

Let’s talk about you
  • Passion for environmental sustainability
  • Strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Ability to stay organized across multiple workstreams
  • Writing and communication skills (including an ability to sensitively deliver feedback)
  • Ability to analyze opportunities from the perspective of a potential funder
