In partnership with WWF Asia Pacific Growth Strategy, this program places students from Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and Yale School of Management at WWF offices in the Asia Pacific region. These internships focus on corporate partnership and transformation initiatives across the 24 countries in which WWF operates in Asia Pacific.
The program is designed to enable graduate students interested in marketing, financial and partnership instruments to contribute to an innovation agenda in one of the world’s largest and most experienced independent conservation organizations. The work takes place in a rapidly developing region, which creates unique challenges to conservation efforts.
This program launched in 2014 and internships completed to date include:
- WWF Asia Pacific Growth Strategy (Singapore) - Developing a business plan for how to increase WWF’s engagement with companies at a regional level
- WWF Australia – Developing a strategy for business engagement and corporate investment in water stewardship in Australia
- WWF China - Conducting market analysis and developing a corporate and individual fundraising strategy
- WWF Korea – Developing a strategy for corporate partnership and market transformation in South Korea
- WWF Singapore – Developing a strategy for corporate partnership and market transformation in Singapore
- WWF Vietnam - Researching and proposing a detailed strategy and business plan on how to establish Payment for Ecosystem Services schemes in the Mekong Delta.
- WWF Korea – Developing corporate and stakeholder engagement plans and creating a marketing/conservation campaign strategy
2018 placement opportunity will be in the Singapore office of WWF Asia Pacific Growth Strategy. This internship is fully funded at $10,000 and is only open to graduate students at Yale.
The intern will be working in the Corporate Partnerships Department primarily dealing with strategic philanthropy and marketing partnerships with transformational engagement. Focus will be on significant resource mobilization for priority, high impact and urgent conservation and transformational, sustainable projects across Asia and across various corporate industries. Goals and objectives of the project:
Develop a corporate strategy that will enable WWF Singapore to reach out to more local companies for corporate collaborations. Focus on the industries below by gathering and mapping industry insights in Singapore. Key industries:
- Airlines and Airplane Production
- Apparel & Textiles
Develop a pipeline of key and high impact conservation projects within Asia Pacific by liaising with various WWF offices that would fit the industry approaches.
Help to create meaningful corporate partnerships following WWF’s industry approaches to companies under the mentioned industries.

The last eight years have seen it develop to be an effective, solid strategy for building strong offices across Asia-Pacific; developing leadership, capacity in fundraising, self-generated income and a way of working together to be the WWF that we need to be if we are to achieve our urgent conservation objectives. WWF offices in Asia Pacific have doubled the level of funding from priority segments through investments in growth, collaboration, and capacity building, and the main driver behind this achievement is the Asia Pacific Growth Strategy.
