Moving the Needle
Moving the Needle is a student-led speaker series that brings the Yale community together to explore the complex challenges and emerging possibilities shaping the future of fashion. Through interdisciplinary talks and conversations with researchers, practitioners, innovators, and industry leaders, the series examines how fashion intersects with sustainable materials, renewable energy, chemicals, consumer behavior, policy, economics, supply chains, finance, culture, and new business models.
As part of the broader Sustainable Fashion @ Yale initiative, Moving the Needle creates an accessible forum for dialogue, collaboration, and learning across disciplines—inviting students and the wider Yale community to consider how fashion can become more environmentally responsible, socially equitable, and economically resilient.
