Designed to build skills and inspire innovative thinking, we host various programs that are open to all.
When you are ready to dig a little deeper, we offer longer-term, cohort-based opportunities that complement Yale’s curriculum.
This seed grant represents a key focus area within CBEY: Climate Change Innovation. Entrepreneurs and innovators have an increasingly critical role in helping to slow down, and maybe even reverse, the effects of climate change. This seed funding program is an important step in unlocking this potential and fulfilling Yale’s commitment to building a more sustainable world.
Innovate with a purpose. Start a venture that addresses the needs of both the market and the planet. The goal of this funding is to support students in creating competitive commercial enterprises that market viable products, services, and projects with environmental benefits to society.
Awarded each spring, the Sustainable Venture Prize supports Yale's most innovative ideas for businesses that advance a more sustainable way of life. Past winners include an online social platform to expand the adoption of solar power, a software package for improving forest inventory data, and a contained symbiotic system to produce an algae-based cattle feed supplement that reduces methane.
Because the intersection of business and the environment is a relatively new space, there is a lot of room for new ideas to take root. CBEY staff, Fellows and Visiting Experts are available for office hours or one-on-one coaching sessions about your venture, innovative idea, career path and beyond.
CBEY supports and produces research reports and publications to advance the development of business solutions to systemic environmental problems.
CBEY is proud to be a part of the entrepreneurial landscape at Yale. We work with partners spanning the university to create a strong support system for entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers. See all of the resources at Yale Ventures.
