Xavier Rolet Joins CBEY Advisory Board
Experience in finance, global markets, and innovation will add depth to CBEY's work.
The Yale Center for Business and the Environment is delighted to welcome Xavier Rolet to our Advisory Board!
Xavier is currently Chairman at Shore Capital Markets and has held many prominent positions throughout his career, including CEO of the London Stock Exchange and senior roles at Goldman Sachs.
When asked what most interested him about the work happening at CBEY, he said “I was impressed by CBEY’s strategy to harness the power of Business and Capital Markets to solve the urgent environmental challenges facing humanity."
In addition to his extensive experience in finance, he brings an entrepreneurial spirit and deep commitment to innovation. Thirty years ago Xavier founded La Verrière, a previously abandoned Provencal Priory transformed into the home of the premium organic wine brand, Chêne Bleu.
Xavier’s experience and enthusiasm for working with students have already been in action, as he’s been engaging in CBEY’s work in thriving food systems via our Regenerative Agriculture Lab with Resident Fellow, Tagan Engel. Also, he and his wife, Nicole Sierra-Rolet, spoke with students this semester about their work making premium organic wine.
“Yale innovations like the joint graduate degree program between the School of Management and the School of the Environment are producing an impressive cohort of multidisciplinary future leaders. My wife Nicole and I have already had the pleasure of engaging with a number of these students during a recent presentation on regenerative viticulture. One graduating student has even expressed interest in joining a regenerative ag & ranching project I am working on!”
We are thrilled to have Xavier as the newest member of CBEY’s Advisory Board, an inspiring and diverse group of people who provide advice and guidance in support of our mission to inspire, support, and accelerate the transition to a just and thriving world.
