Raul Garcia, Project Engineer at CSW Energy
Raul Garcia is originally from Miami, FL. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida International University (FIU). During his senior year, Raul co-founded FIU’s team in NREL’s first Solar District Cup — a collegiate design competition that challenges students to design and model distributed energy systems. His team won first place in its division with a design and proposal for a 13.6MW solar photovoltaic (PV) system. His experience in the competition convinced him to pursue a career in clean energy. He currently works for CSW Energy, a renewable energy developer based in New Haven, CT. In his role, Raul designs commercial-scale solar PV projects and helps administer RFPs for the CT Green Bank and several municipal clients. Now, as part of the 2023 Yale FDCE certificate cohort, Raul is eager to gain a broader understanding of the clean energy transition by learning about clean energy policy and finance.
