The Yale Initiative on Sustainable Finance (YISF), a joint project of the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy and the Center for Business and the Environmentat Yale, seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Associate in Sustainable Finance with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in YISF’s ongoingresearch projects under the supervision of Professors Todd Cort and Dan Esty (YISF Co-Directors) and alongside YISF research director Nathan de Arriba-Sellier –as well as having an opportunity to pursue their own research.
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. from a management school or economics program with demonstrated research experience in sustainable or ESG finance. We are specifically interested in candidates that have strong statistics backgrounds and data analytical skills and experience in ESG-related portfolio analysis. Experience working with large, unstructured ESG data sets would also be a plus. Candidates should have expertise in methodologies to test the financial implications of ESG data. Past work with asset managers, asset owners, and banks on ESG finance topics would be an asset. Ideal candidates will have exceptional research, writing, and verbal communication skills, as well as an inclusive and flexible approach to collaborating with a diverse team of people and organizations.
This position offers a one-year opportunity with a possibility of reappointment for a second or third year upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
