The experience and expertise of alumni provide an unparalleled resource for students navigating their way through the Yale experience. In recognition of this, the Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) launched the CBEY Visiting Alumni Experts program in the spring of 2018 in an effort to connect alumni from different sectors with current students. Since then, over 250 engagements between students and experts have taken place as part of this program.
There is a new normal given the impact of the COVID-crisis. As a result, students have been adapting their professional plans and thinking critically about what their next few years might look like. Connecting with alumni who are doing the work helps current students see the possible pathways that exist at the intersection of business and the environment and understand what it took to get there.
We are delighted to announce the 2021-2022 cohort:
As Visiting Experts, each alum will meet with students throughout the academic year to discuss industry trends, career advice, coursework support and beyond.
"CBEY is passionate about supporting students who are navigating a career pathway in business and the environment. We are incredibly lucky to have so many incredible alumni who will offer their time to help our students," says Heather Fitzgerald, Associate Director at CBEY.
"Through these conversations, students get a better sense of the type of careers in sustainability that exist...the insights and advice from our Visiting Experts & Mentors give students a perspective that they just can't get from coursework."
Students can learn more about the program and sign up to meet with an Alumni Visiting Expert & Mentor here.
