William Murtha

William Murtha is Emissions Markets and Policy Reporter at Argus Media. At Yale, he explored avenues to ramp up funding for conservation that tap the potential of the private sector. Prior to arrival at Yale, Will worked on water policy issues for The Nature Conservancy, where he advocated for restoration funds for the Gulf in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon spill and built support in Congress for over twenty of the organization’s projects with the Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation. He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and deployed to Iraq. He also served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a natural resources volunteer in Ecuador. Will is a graduate of Georgetown University and hails from Vermont.
