Sumitra Kumar

Sumitra is a Master of Environmental Management candidate focusing on corporate sustainability and environmental policy analysis.  She brings eight-plus years of diverse experience in designing and implementing national policies in the energy and environment sectors during her role as Monitoring and Evaluation Lead at the Government of India and advising multinational energy companies on their high-value assets across three continents as a Petrophysicist at Schlumberger. She excels in monitoring & evaluation, materiality assessment, techno-commercial feasibility analysis, partnerships, and capacity-building.

Her previous academic training includes a Master's in Geology from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur with top honors, a B. Sc. in Geology from Delhi University with a gold medal and first position in the highly competitive national planetary science research and lectureship assessment by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. In her personal time, Sumitra enjoys bonsai-making, cooking, and traveling to geologically distinct places.
