Sue Ely
Sue’s work focuses on protecting and promoting Maine’s clean energy policies through legal advocacy at the Public Utilities Commission, Maine’s courts, and at the Legislature. She brings her law degree and considerable experience to bear upon this work. Sue recently returned to Maine after working as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Solicitor at the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, DC. Prior to law school, she spent several years in Alaska working on environmental and energy policy. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College, a Master of Environmental Science from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law. Sue lives in Yarmouth and enjoys exploring Maine’s hiking trails with her dog, Maddie.
