Sonia Wang

Sonia is a Master of Environmental Management candidate at the Yale School of Environment specializing in marine and coastal ecosystem management and conservation. Her focus lies in transdisciplinary approaches to management and conservation. Sonia is interested in linking ecosystem service valuation, evidence-based decision making, marine & coastal science in order to contribute to more inventive and holistic policy analysis and management that is considerate of equity and justice implications.

At the Center for Business and the Environment, she is a webinar host for the Conservation Finance Network's "Nature's Returns" webinar series. Sonia also works with the Yale Tropical Resources Institute.

Before coming to Yale, Sonia graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Environmental Sciences and Public Policy & Leadership. Sonia has co-owned an ecological-economic consultancy, was chosen for the Conservation Scholars Program--a joint program between the University of Virginia and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, worked for the Shenandoah Watershed Sutyd, and interned at the Wilderness Society.
