Sofia Ribeiro

Sofia is from Lisbon, Portugal and is currently doing a Master of Advanced Management at the Yale School of Management. Before Yale, she was working as a Medical and Public Health Policy Specialist at Policy Wisdom, a health consultancy firm. She has also worked as a consultant at the WHO Environment and Health Program, and for the Portuguese Group of Activists in Treatments, the biggest nonprofit in Portugal focused on HIV and harm reduction.

Her passion for entrepreneurship drove her to create her own company in 2018, Consulta do Viajante, which provides travel medicine appointments in Portugal through telemedicine.

She has a Medical Doctor degree (University of Lisbon, Portugal), a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (University of London, UK), a Master of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations, with major in European Studies (NOVA University, Portugal). Sofia is also a PhD candidate at Maastricht University (The Netherlands), focusing on HIV in vulnerable populations.
