Shimul is a final-year Master of Environmental Management candidate at the Yale School of the Environment. Prior to Yale, she has worked with a range of sustainability initiatives - from evaluating government-business partnerships for ecotourism and designing policies for Marine Protected Areas with Dakshin Foundation, to assessing sustainable architecture and cooling technology with cBalance Solutions, among others. At Yale, she focuses on sustainable finance, and is intent on helping investors avoid environmental risks and maximize benefits to natural resources through their investment and strategic decisions.
Most recently, she worked with Hatch Blue, a private equity firm focused on sustainable aquaculture innovation, to develop metrics to evaluate the environmental and social impacts of their portfolio. She also lead efforts to source and structure deals for the development of a new impact-first fund in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy.
