Master of Environmental Management 2026
Sara K

Sara is a first-year Master of Environmental Management student at Yale School of the Environment, studying ways to accelerate the transition to a nature-positive food system.  She is interested in the intersection of community economic development, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable financing models.  She is further interested in the deployment of technologies and strategies for more efficient water usage in agriculture to ensure the conservation and resilience of watersheds.

Prior to YSE, Sara spent five years at the US Department of Agriculture as a policy writer for three major federal nutrition programs. In this role, she gained expertise in US agricultural law, federal-state-tribal relationship management, policy design, and federal funding mechanisms.

Sara served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia and holds a BA from Boston College in International Studies and Economics. She is a passionate Minnesotan, and in her free time you can find her biking, backpacking, and sailing in and around New England.
