Sakhi Ataya

Leading the delivery of the Clean and Equitable Energy Development Certificate Program (CEED), Sakhi Ataye advocates for a just transition to a fossil fuel-free energy system and enhanced access to climate innovation. At CBEY, his efforts are dedicated to addressing critical gaps in clean energy training and curriculum, empowering individuals and communities to adopt sustainable practices and foster equitable energy transitions.

Prior to his role at CBEY, Sakhi successfully delivered global online certificates in Sustainable Development and Social Entrepreneurship as part of the Open Society University Network (OSUN). His commitment to expanding access to innovation and entrepreneurship is further demonstrated through the co-founding of the Democratizing Innovation Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing climate and entrepreneurship training to marginalized communities across the globe.

Sakhi's belief in education as a catalyst for transformative change is particularly evident in his work with crisis-impacted communities in Afghanistan, where he established the Kaaj Education Organization. This initiative has created safe digital learning environments for hundreds of girls who are deprived of basic human rights and access to education. Previously, as Operations Manager at the Afghanistan New Generation Organization (ANGO), he played a pivotal role in advocating for the empowerment of women and youth.

Currently pursuing an MBA in Sustainability at Bard College with a focus on impact investing, Sakhi is uniquely positioned to contribute to a sustainable, equitable future for all.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Sakhi is passionate about poetry and music, with a voracious appetite for history, a wanderlust for travel, a love for diverse cuisines, and a commitment to an active lifestyle.
