Nate came to Yale from Opower, where he was a Product Manager responsible for directing the development of tools for Pacific Gas & Electric customers to better understand and reduce their energy consumption. While at Opower, he also led a team responsible for researching and developing content to provide targeted energy conservation recommendations to residential energy consumers across the US and in several international markets. Prior to his 5 years at Opower, Nate worked at the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy in Washington DC, where he researched energy efficiency policy, markets, and technologies in the industrial and agricultural sectors and facilitated coalitions of energy-intensive US industries to form consensus on energy provisions in federal energy bills. Nate is originally from Massachusetts and attended Wesleyan University, where he majored in government and music and received a certificate in environmental studies. He's an avid musician, bicycle commuter, and New York Times crossword puzzler.
