MBA 2023
Max Flignor.jpg

Max is a SOM graduate who explored the intersection of clean energy and finance. Originally from Chicago, Max studied economics at Carleton College before moving east to Boston to work in economic consulting at Analysis Group. At AG, he used statistical and financial models to help finance, energy, and public sector clients analyze complex situations and make better decisions.

Max spent this past summer working in renewable energy consulting, helping build a green hydrogen investment strategy for a energy company looking to decarbonize its asset base. The strategy included project finance modeling, stakeholder outreach, and working with the client to develop a transportation and storage approach for hydrogen products.

This fall at SOM, Max is serving as a Teaching Assistant for an EMBA course, Tools in Sustainable Finance, and is the co-president of SOM's Energy Club. In addition, he writes about renewable energy project finance and other climate topics for Yale’s Clean Energy Finance Forum. Post-MBA, he is excited to explore finance and strategy roles with renewable energy developers.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking in national parks around the country, playing chess and cooking vegetarian recipes.
