Matthew Brunstad is an MBA candidate at Yale School of Management with a passion for clean energy and sustainability. His professional background includes strategic consulting roles, where he developed corporate sustainability initiatives and helped reduce emissions for major natural resource companies. At Yale, he is actively involved in the Energy Club and works as a research assistant at the Center for Business and Environment, contributing to solar energy research.

Before Yale, Matthew spent two years in Aomori, Japan on the Japan Exchange Teaching (JET) Program, developing an experiential education curriculum for high school students english. In Japan, he authored and distributed a biweekly Japanese energy transition newsletter, covering topics such as solar, nuclear, waste management, and sustainable transportation. 

Beyond his professional pursuits, Matthew often spends his time in nature and looking up (birdwatching) or above nature looking down (he is working towards a private pilots license). His environmental focus is further reflected in volunteer activities, such as leading birdwatching tours for students in the Bronx with the non-profit Feathered Friends. An advocate for green solutions, he combines his love for the environment with his business acumen to promote sustainable energy advancements.
