Margaret Kerr, PhD

Margaret has been a Green Chemistry educator since 2003. Her work has taken her around the world with two Fulbright grants and opportunities to implement green chemistry curriculum. Her recent activities have brought her to Thailand as a Fulbright Specialist to promote green chemistry in industry and government and to Poland to teach a course titled “Green Chemistry and the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals: Harnessing Their Combined Power”. As the Director of Education at the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering at Yale University, she has developed the online Green Chemistry for Climate and Sustainability certificate program. This first-of-its kind program is committed to teaching Green Chemistry and Green Engineering applications to address global and local challenges and will include fundamental knowledge of the drivers, barriers and opportunities to implement safer chemicals and processes. 

Outside of the lab Margaret is a nationally-ranked competitive fencer in her age group, an avid flower gardener and dog walking enthusiast.
