Mar Gutiérrez is the Head of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Grupo Trimex S.A. de C.V.

She focused in business and the environment at the Yale school of the Environment. She is particularly interested in helping companies improve their bottom line by integrating sustainability principles into business strategies. She spent her summer, working with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Environmental Stewardship shoreside team at their headquarters in Miami, FL. Her work ranged from waste management, maritime international regulations and corporate reporting. At CBEY, she collaborated with the team working on the Global Network for Advanced Management survey of future business leaders.

Before enrolling at Yale, Mar worked as an environmental consultant at Géon & Green Plus mainly focusing on the CDP Climate Change questionnaire. Prior to that, she collaborated with the Corporate and Financial Communications practice at Burson-Marsteller Mexico, helping clients develop and implement internal and external communication strategies. During her final year of college and after graduation, she supervised, maintained and enhanced international strategic alliances for Reforestamos México A.C. Mar grew up in Mexico City. She holds a B.A. in International Relations with a concentration in Environmental Studies from Universidad Iberoamericana. She was an exchange student at Georgetown University and Växjö University. She enjoys attending concerts by the Yale Symphony Orchestra, spending time with friends and walking around New Haven.
