Lara Burmeister

Lara Burmeister is Associate Director at Wollemi Capital. Lara spent three years as a Principal at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. During her time at Yale she focused on project finance and energy and environmental economics. She is particularly interested in the financing and deployment of clean technologies and public infrastructure projects. In her first year at Yale, Lara worked extensively with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) on restructuring Connecticut’s waste management system. In this joint Yale/DEEP project, she performed historical economic analyses of recycled materials markets in the North East and analyzed opportunities for increased resource recovery.

The summer of 2013, Lara interned at the solar developer SunEdison, LLC in their Solar Leadership Program, working on market strategy for the North America utility group. In this role, Lara developed financial models assessing the viability of new regions for solar development and presented her findings to senior management.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University with a BA in Architecture, Lara spent three years in Germany working in sustainable consulting for building and urban planning projects. She worked on developing energy efficient HVAC concepts for buildings and engaged with various green building certification programs including LEED, DGNB and BREEAM. In her free time, Lara enjoys rock-climbing, skiing and Vinyasa yoga.
