Eric Plunkett graduated from Yale with an MBA/MEM in 2015.
After graduation, Eric took a break from environmental work to develop new creative problem-solving skills as an innovation strategy consultant in Washington, DC. In that role, he helped nonprofits develop new services and business models by applying design thinking methodology. Going forward, Eric’s goal is to combine his interests in sustainability and innovation in order to find new solutions to energy and environmental challenges.
He then spent a year as a Green Investment Specialist (GIS) at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), an international organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. His role involved providing financial and technical assistance to in-country teams, particularly in Latin America. In this position, Eric was able to use the multidisciplinary training he received as a joint degree student.
Prior to coming to Yale, Eric spent over three years at the Alliance to Save Energy in DC and another year running a community development project for Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica. He is a proud native of Orchard Park, NY and holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. In his spare time, he loves playing and watching soccer, exploring nature, attempting improv comedy, and traveling the world with his lovely wife.
