Emj

EmJ Joseph is a joint MBA/MEM candidate at the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of the Environment, passionate about building a more equitable and sustainable energy future. Before Yale, she spent five years in the energy sector, where she helped launch a North American EV loyalty program and led transportation justice initiatives aimed at scaling sustainable mobility infrastructure in underserved communities. She also served as president of a national energy transition leadership network, coordinating a U.S. community of over 500 professionals working toward decarbonization.

Her interest in environmental equity is both personal and systemic. As a first-generation college graduate who navigated economic instability and loss at a young age, EmJ brings a lived understanding of how infrastructure, climate, and inequality intersect. At Yale, she serves as Vice President of Student Government, a Net Impact career team leader, a CBEY 2050 Fellow, and a Nonprofit Board Fellow for a Connecticut-based organization addressing food insecurity. She recently helped organize Yale SOM’s inaugural Day of Service to center service and accessibility in the student experience.

EmJ is particularly interested in energy transition strategy—exploring how governments, companies, and communities can collaborate to accelerate decarbonization while prioritizing equity and long-term resilience. Through the joint-degree program, she is building the tools to lead at the intersection of business, policy, and justice.
