colin Custer

Colin is a joint MBA and Master of Environmental Management candidate, focusing on how we can deploy finance to cultivate food more sustainably.

Prior to Yale, Colin spent two years running the Ugandan operations division of the agriculture nonprofit One Acre Fund, delivering seed, fertilizer, and financing to over 11,000 smallholder farmers in Eastern Uganda. Prior to that he worked in One Acre Fund's strategy team, developing joint ventures for seed production in Rwanda and identifying opportunities for smallholder farmers to access global crop markets, among other projects. Colin came to One Acre Fund after three years in Boston at the management consulting firm Bain & Co., and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. An avid backpacker, he's hiked the entirety of both the Appalachian and Pacific Crest trails in the US, and trekked in Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, and Uganda.

At Yale he can be found out running with his two dogs, hiking in Connecticut's many state parks, or working on DYI projects around his house.
