Charlie

Charlie Cheng is an undergraduate at Yale majoring in Environmental Engineering with a focus on climate and technology. His academic research spans perovskite solar cells and electrocatalytic carbon dioxide conversion, with an emphasis on next-generation energy systems.

Beyond the lab, he has evaluated a broad range of emerging clean energy technologies—including hydrogen fuel cells, grid simulation tools, carbon capture, and wind energy—through venture analysis. He has collaborated with founders of several lab spin-outs, gaining insight into the process of translating technical research into commercial ventures.

Charlie is especially interested in the intersection of technical performance and commercialization, and how climate innovations can be scaled in competitive markets.
