Carolina is a joint Master of Business Administration and Master of Environmental Management candidate. She is interested in community-based restoration, the development of sustainable livelihood activities, and circular economy solutions. Before coming to Yale, Carolina was working as an Environmental Specialist at Hatfield Consultants, an environmental consulting firm, in Vancouver, Canada. In this role, she conducted fieldwork and analyzed monitoring data to assess the effects of industrial and municipal projects on surrounding aquatic environments. Prior to this position, she also worked on programs addressing single-use plastic pollution in Canada, mangrove conservation in Costa Rica, and peatland restoration in Germany.

Carolina was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Ecology from The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She loves traveling, hiking, and working on artistic projects.
