Bradford S. Gentry

Mr. Gentry’s work explores the opportunities for using private investment to improve environmental performance. He works both across and within particular sectors/problems. The cross-sectoral work focuses on the steps policymakers can take to help develop opportunities for sustainable investments, including market frameworks, information systems, and shared investments/ partnerships. The sectoral work is concentrated in three major areas: increasing private investment in the delivery of urban environmental services (particularly drinking water and sanitation), sustainable forest management, and cleaner energy. Projects in all these areas are undertaken across a range of contexts from New Haven, to developing country megacities and to wilderness forest systems. He has written extensively on the links between private investment and environmental performance, including the book Private Capital Flows and the Environment: Lessons from Latin America.
