Originally from Vermont, Alex Piper is now based out of Washington D.C. as the Legislative Assistant for Congressman Peter Welch (D-VT), a senior member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. After graduating from Kenyon College with a political science degree in 2016, he worked as an organizer in Delaware County, Ohio for the general election and then joined Senator Patrick Leahy’s (D-VT) energy and environment team in 2017. He has been with Congressman Welch for over two years and handles the energy, environment, and agriculture portfolio with a focus on clean energy, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency.
