In this workshop, Ben Young (SOM '16) will walk through how Hugo & Hoby developed their own supply chain of sustainable fabrication shops up and down the Northeast Coast while students at Yale SOM.
You'll learn a bit about lessons learned on building a sustainable supply chain and the importance of trusting relationships with your suppliers and partners. Ben will also discuss techniques for taking an idea and making it a reality quickly and efficiently.
After the talk, you'll have the opportunity to form working groups and discuss what steps you would need to take if you needed to make your first sale in just 1 week - and what you would subsequently do to start to ramp up sales over the next 30 days. By thinking through this exercise and setting ambitious, but achievable goals in a short time horizon, you will leave with clear next steps and concrete action items to help test a business idea quickly, make and an idea real, and start to develop a trusting network of supply chain partners that make the planet and our communities better off.
