Following on from the successful September 22nd 2017 Symposium on the “State of ESG Data”, the Yale Initiative on Sustainable Finance (YISF) will again be hosting a Symposium on November 2, 2018 to discuss the:
State of ESG Disclosure Standards
The Symposium, to be held at the Yale School of Management will bring together companies, investors, think tanks, academics and data analytic firms in an effort to move the state of practice forward. Currently, there are almost 200 self-proclaimed standards for ESG data disclosure and integration into financial disclosures. Does the current plethora of standards create confusion? Is there value in some consolidation of the standards? Or perhaps even agreement on a government-defined set of standards?
YISF will convene the Symposium in an effort to identify common practices and themes that can be organized and taken forward by a more focused set of frameworks, guidelines and/or standards in the space.
The Symposium will coincide with a published Proceedings highlighting rigorous thought and research into the questions surrounding Standards for ESG Integration and Disclosure. A call for papers will go out in Spring 2018 and submissions will be peer-reviewed by faculty at Yale University for publication in the Proceedings. Authors of published papers will once again highlight the panels and keynote speakers in the Symposium.
YISF is currently soliciting sponsorships at multiple levels for the Symposium and Proceedings. Last year, the invitation-only Symposium attracted almost 200 asset managers, asset owners, data analytic and academic practitioners with almost 150 attending. We will seek similar attendance this year with between 150 and 200 attendees targeted to represent expertise and activity in the field.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
