Practical Experiences from the Private Sector: Royal DSM

This webinar is part of the series "Internal Carbon Pricing: Practical Experiences from the Private Sector."  In partnership with the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition* (CPLC),  this series is brought to you by the World Economic Forum and Yale University. This series features senior leaders from global companies who will share with peers their experiences and insights from their journeys to define and implement carbon prices.

During the first live webcast in this series, Royal DSM will engage on the topic of internal carbon pricing. In 2015, the company signed up as a UN Caring for Climate “Carbon Pricing Champion”, committing to set an internal carbon price while advocating it publically. Feike Sijbesma, CEO of Royal DSM and Co-chair of the CPLC High Level Assembly, will be joined by Geraldine Matchett (CFO and Managing Board Member), Maaike Lambrichts (VP Finance & Business Support) and Frank van den Boomen (Director Operational Excellence and Responsible Care). At DSM, the internal carbon price is set at €50 per ton CO2, and is used to review large investment decisions.

The DSM team will first share insights on why it has set an internal carbon price and how it serves the company’s energy efficiency strategy. At a more practical level, they will share lessons learned during the process of setting the price, implementing the internal policy, and using DSM’s internal carbon price.

Featuring: Feike Sijbesma, CEO of Royal DSM and Co-chair of the CPLC High Level Assembly
