Working Together to Change the World (Remotely)

Note: The event time listed above is in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

When faced with adversity, it’s a natural for people to want to band together. Groups can provide comfort, allyship, and a helping hand. But what if gathering physically isn’t possible? This limits daily life, and it also limits social movements to create positive change. Right now, there’s the temporary barrier of social distancing for health reasons, but even when there’s not a pandemic going on, there’s the long-term barrier of the geographic distance between different cities and countries. Luckily, digital tools can help overcome these barriers.

In this interactive session, experts in remote collaboration will share what they’ve learned from their past work convening global teams online, and they’ll share their current initiatives to apply these learnings to pressing global challenges, from COVID-19 to climate change. After discussion from the panelists, attendees will work in breakout groups to complete a team exercise that puts these ideas into practice.

This event is co-hosted with the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (CITY).
