Sabin Speaker Series: Will Bradshaw, Co-Founder and CEO, Green Coast Enterprises

The Yale Center for Business and the Environment presents Will Bradshaw as part of the Sabin Prize Speaker Series. Mr. Bradshaw is the Co-Founder and President of Green Coast Enterprises (GCE), a sustainable real estate company focusing on community renewal projects in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Mr. Bradshaw will be speaking about his experiences starting a “triple bottom line” company in the highly uncertain environment post-Katrina, while highlighting some of his most important projects to date.

Founded in 2007 following Hurricane Katrina, GCE has helped develop nearly 1,000 housing units and over $150M of property. GCE also specializes in energy efficiency projects for buildings located in the uniquely hot and humid climate of the Gulf Coast.

In 2011, President Obama named Mr. Bradshaw a Champion of Change. He has also been named one of Fast Company’s “10 Coolest Innovators Rebuilding New Orleans” and one of “America’s Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs” by Business Week.

Mr. Bradshaw holds a Ph.D. in Regional and Urban Economics and Sustainable Community Development, Masters Degrees in City Planning and Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and degrees in Physics and Cross-Cultural Studies from Davidson College. He also teaches sustainable real estate development at the Tulane University School of Architecture.
