Pathways in CSR: The State of the Sustainability Profession, with Ellen Weinreb

Ellen Weinreb, CEO of Weinreb Group, will close out Pathways in CSR for this year with a recruiter’s perspective on the sustainability profession. As one of the country’s leading recruiters for sustainability positions, Ellen will share her wide-ranging expertise on careers in sustainability, including what she looks for when filling senior-level roles. Her talk will include an exclusive early look at career data she has collected in partnership with GreenBiz, which will be published over the summer.  Lunch will be served.

Ellen Weinreb is the CEO of Weinreb Group, an executive search and consulting firm with a specialty in supply chain, sustainability and external affairs. She is one of the nation’s top authorities on the sustainability profession and publisher of CSO Back Story: How Chief Sustainability Officers Reached the C-Suite. Her clients include Levi Strauss, Nestle Waters, Nike, and Clorox.

Ellen Weinreb’s passion for sustainability and CSR dates back well before it was a buzzword. She launched a niche CSR consulting firm upon graduating from Yale with an MBA in 1998. In 2005, she founded Sustainability Recruiting, an executive search firm placing sustainability professionals in corporate leadership roles. In 2011, she launched Weinreb Group, uniting her consulting and executive search expertise. She brings 15 years of sustainability and corporate social responsibility experience to her clients.

Ellen is a regular contributor to Forbes, Huffington Post, and GreenBiz with her own column entitled “Talent Show.” She is a frequent speaker at such conferences as GreenBiz, Net Impact, Fortune Brainstorm Green, UN Global Compact, and Sustainable Brands.
