Climates: Fusion Power: Reality, Timeline, and the Grid

Nuclear fusion has long carried the reputation of being perpetually thirty years away, but breakthroughs in high-temperature superconductors and plasma confinement are shifting that timeline. Drawing on lessons from the venture-backed startup ecosystem working to commercialize the technology, this CliMates talk walks through the history of fusion research and what it actually takes to achieve net energy.

We will examine the business models, first-of-a-kind hurdles, and near-term capital deployment prospects for grid-scale fusion power plants, ultimately turning to how fusion ventures can play a role in the clean energy transition.
